So, that was a long bit of time with Dylan, Tommy, and Jay. Good time, most of it - nearly all of it - but some of it not so much.
The good stuff:
Hiking beautiful trails, finding places none of us had been to before, talking about hilarious things - laughing until it hurt. Sweating, breathing hard, BEING. Climbing some stuff, watching everyone climb. The views - so achingly beautiful. Hiking slow - taking it all in. Being sore. Reading some of a book, taking pictures, sitting at the lip of a cave. Laughing, sharing. Bonding. Belaying.
The less good stuff:
Wow ego pummeling, body image shot. The night I couldn't. Tension within the group - being helpless. Sucking at something I like. Matt turning out to be a total ass.
So, quite obviously, the good outweigh the bad by a LARGE margin - so why is it so hard to focus on the amazing?
Now visiting my Dad in a different city - should be a great week :).
